When my eyes flutter open, I reach across the bed. But Edge isn’t there. I notice my suitcase at the foot of the bed as I sit up. So, I go through it and grab some fresh articles of clothing and shower before I walk out of the room. I’ll have to ask Edge who brought my things so I know who to thank. Once I hit the hallway, I watch as Rogue, Bane, Shadow, and Edge walk into the church room. None of them have a look on their faces that say everything is peachy in their world. Edge, either not seeing me, or his mind otherwise occupied, doesn’t even acknowledge my presence. I’m hoping it’s the first, and not the last. Especially after what we just shared. I can still feel him between my legs. He’s left an impression that will be stuck in my mind for the rest of my life. No man will ever compare.

I find Harmony sitting at the bar, nursing a glass of lemon water. “What’s going on?” I ask, sliding onto a bar stool next to her.

“I don’t know. But whatever it is, it’s not good.” Her eyes travel from the door to the room the men entered, then back to the front door of the clubhouse. She tells me what happened right before they left.

“Wow. That’s not promising.” I begin chewing on my thumbnail in anticipation. Something inside of me, says this is about me and what trouble I’ve brought into their lives.

“Don’t do that,” Harmony says, reaching up pulling my thumb from my mouth. “You’re a nurse, you know what can happen if you break the skin, right?”

“Yes. Nervous habit I’ve had since I was a kid,” I say, before my legs begin to bounce.

“Looks like that’s not the only one you have,” she tells me, pointing at my restless legs. I shrug my shoulders because I have nothing to add.

The door slams open, hitting the wall. Sandman comes stomping into the room. “I’m giving them five minutes, then I’m breaking that damn door down. Five!”

Pyro stands up, and when he does, I don’t see that friendly man who I’ve sat down with a time or two and had a beer with. No, who I see, is one of the club’s enforcers. Ready, and willing, to put a brother in his place. “You know how this works.” He crosses his arms over his chest. He’s taken a stance that lets the room know he’s ready for action. Chills run down my spine, causing a shiver to run throughout my body. He’s an intimidating man, he’s got that whole domination thing down. He makes me think of the BDSM books and the Doms I’ve read about. But, Sandman is also an enforcer, Rogue’s to be exact, and Pyro’s display doesn’t seem to do anything to him. He also takes a defensive stand, and I begin feeling like I’m in the middle of a showdown.

“Which one of them will win?” leaning over I whisper to Harmony.
